Golf in USVI and Puerto Rico

 

 

Day 1 St. Thomas has an international airport, which is easily reached from almost anywhere. Your chosen yacht will be ready to pick you up and the adventure can begin! Let the crew pamper you and settle into the boat and maybe go for a walk in the old streets of Charlotte Amalie.

 

Relax between rounds of golfDay 2 Make an early start and play the Mahogany Run golf on the north side of the island. It is a challenging course and especially the Devil’s Triangle can give you some extra gray hairs! Sail off to St. John in the afternoon and spend a relaxing late afternoon swimming and snorkeling.

 

Day 3 This day is all about sailing and on a comfortable down wind run to St Croix, which will be 4 – 6 hours depending on the yacht and the wind.. Any captain will be happy to teach you about sailing or you can just lean back and enjoy the ride. Arriving in the afternoon you can either explore the historic town of Christiansted or go for an island tour.

The Carambola Golf Club, St. CroixDay 4 Start the day by playing the Buccaneer Golf Course. It has a beautiful layout with amazing views of the Caribbean Sea. In the afternoon you can sail to the small Block Island and relax for the afternoon.

 

Day 5 The Carambola golf course is hidden in the rain forest and is absolutely spectacular with amazing vegetation and a lot of water hazards. In the afternoon you can stroll the streets of the old town of Frederiksted on the western end of the island. Many of the old houses have been restored and the old fort Frederik, built in the late 1700 by the Danes.

 

The old town of Christiansted, St. CroixDay 6 Enjoy a beautiful sail to Vieques ((4-5 hrs). Go to Bio Bay, horse back riding around the island on Pasafinos’ ( which are small horses which feels just like riding a couch). Walk the boardwalk and enjoy the Latino atmosphere, music and good humor,

 

Day 7 Sail to Puerto del Rey on the east end of Puerto Rico ( 3 hrs) You can start early and play the beautiful course of Conquistador in the afternoon.

 

Day 8 This will be the end of a week’s charter and you can either stay and play some more of the Puerto Rican golf courses, or start your journey home, telling all your friends about your fantastic sail and golf vacation!
